Children are far more sensitive to their environment than adults.  I see children as our canaries in a mine.  However, unlike canaries, children have amazing resilience.

The sooner that we become aware, remove the toxins, and provide our children with the necessary tools required by their bodies, the quicker they will heal.  And our children will heal – some sooner than others and some will show more improvement than others.  We must not scold ourselves for lack of awareness.  Rather, we must move forward and make each day the best it can be.

I believe that knowledge is empowering.  The more educated you become, the more empowered you will be, and the less you will need my guidance.  I see parents as my partners, with the same ultimate goal of helping their children to be as healthy, resilient, and as well balanced as possible.  So, I recommend you learn – through reading books, articles, the Internet, hearing lectures, and watching documentaries.  This website is a good place to find suggestions.

The more you know, the more comfortable you will be helping your child yourself.

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his (her) patients in the care of the human body, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison

“We (environmental and integrative physicians) are all prisoners of the truth.  Truth that sick people can get well without drugs, truth that nutrients faciliate that process, truth that drugs do not solve the underlying chronic problems of health, truth that drugs work by blocking the very enzymes and mediators that we need for healing, truth that as necessary as drugs are for acute life-threatening illness, the concept that drugs can promote health is fundamentally a flawed concept.  Once we know this truth, we cannot back away from it.  We are captives of the truth – prisoners of truth.” – Majid Ali, M.D.
